What is the IHC Education Council, and what does it do?

The Immaculate Heart Central Schools Education Council is a Council of limited jurisdiction established to provide parents the choice of quality Catholic education, pre-school through 12th grade, for the City of Watertown and the surrounding area, and to form policy, oversee, and direct the Catholic School System.

How Do I Volunteer to Serve on the Council?

The Nomination Committee of the Education Council shall propose a slate of lay members for vacancies for each parish in the City to be approved at the May meeting of the Council; such nominations shall be solicited from the individual parish in coordination with the Pastor in the month of March.  The surrounding area parishes shall select their representative Pastor and representative lay person and advise the Nomination Committee, as necessary for inclusion on the May slate of members.  The Fort Drum members shall be solicited by the Education Council and/or contact the nominating committee expressing their desire to serve, and shall be selected based on their demonstrated commitment to the school and the input of an appropriate pastor.  To seek selection to the Education Council, contact your pastor and/or the Chair of the Nominating Committee, Ms. Mary Jo Richards.
